How to Do Yoga from Your Work Place
from wikiHow – The How to Manual That You Can Edit
To avoid body pain and remain calm and focused, you can do simple yoga from your desk.
Steps
- Close your eyes.
- Inhale slowly; then slowly exhale.
- While exhaling, try to create heat in your breath. This should make a ‘Haaaa’ sound and will create friction in your throat, relaxing you and burning up those stray calories.
- Concentrate on your breathing. This will help you to relax from pressure and will help to increase your concentration.
- Visualize a balloon inflating and deflating as you breathe.
- Stand up behind your chair and rest your arms on the back of the chair, with your eyes closed and head down.
- Take a few seconds to find calm and focus amid a hectic workday.
Tips
- Yoga videos, such as Gaiam’s Yoga for Beginners, have yoga positions and breathing techniques that can be adjusted for the workplace.
- Some workplaces offer on-site yoga classes.
- Morning yoga practice can be a great start to your work day, making you more alert, energetic and ready to handle the day ahead of you.
- Consider buying yourself a Yoga video with step-by-step instructions on how to do some Yoga. A possible choice is Yoga-Zone.
- Do these exercises when there is no-one else around so you won’t be disturbed.
