Living alone has its own pecularities. Most things in this world have been desingned for couples and families. They seem to be the standard still. The world is changing more single friendly, but slowly.
In single life there is greater need to exit your home, because there is no one else to share your life there with. Singlesness does not necessary mean that one has more vivid social life, but that it mainly consentrates outside home and that it contains pre-arranged dates that must fit in all people’s schedule. Not always so easy to arrange.
[This was originally part of my dead blog: ] The Spinning Wheel [which name] refer[ed] to the original meaning of spinsters due to that spinning was the common task of old maids in the pre-industrial England. Only after industrialisation both spinning wheel and spinsters became less usefull. After that spinster became nick name of middle (and upper) class unmarried women. [Working class women were naturally working wether they were married or not.]
